On this here webpage you shall find some of my 2023 work! Even more than 2022, of my 2023 art a bunch is actually cup art so be sure to look in there!
If you see anything you wanna buy or have questions about, hey... beat up the cash bag or holler at me on one of the many accursed social medias we're all inexplicably tied-to!
The following two works are clay projects I started working on in January (the basic modeling) and finished in June, but since they were started in January I'll just put all of the images at the front.
28 January 2023 |
The front and back of a clay dragon incense burner I sculpted. The wings are brown clay and the body is white clay, because they show different colors under the same glaze. I thought it would look more interesting that way. |

19 June 2023 |
The dragon has been fired, glazed and fired again. He shrank by about one-third in size, which is normal. The same glaze is used on the back as is used on the wings. The stomach and tongue are a slightly different glaze, and obviously the eyes and teeth and inside of the mouth are also different glazes. |

28 January 2023 and 19 June 2023 |

Card designs and color combinations for some simple, hand-made cards. |

3 February 2023 |
A little thank you card I illustrated for a kind lady who sent a little bag of chocolates along with her husband to where we were cutting up a tree as a gift for my birthday. |
medium: brush pen on cardstock |
21 April 2023 |
A Star Wars-themed bookmark I was comissioned to create. It was challenging, because I had limited tools with me where I was, but we got something done in the end. |
medium: posca pens, brushpen, micron pens and colored pencil on 80lbs paper |
30 April 2023Another octopus on another hotel room table's bottom: this one in El Paso, Texas. |
medium: acrylic paint on wood |
18 May 2023I found this pouch lost at a work site, and I thought it would be fun to paint on it and then mail it back to the owner. The owner's address was on a sticker inside. So I did that, but it came back undeliverable. So I sold it instead. Too bad: it would've made for a better story if the address in the pouch hadn't been out of date. |
24 May 2023 |
I designed a table sign with my logo really fast for a few art markets I was going to. I mixed the pigments so they would glow in the dark. |
medium: acrylic paint on scrap wood |
25 May 2023A pouch I painted with paint I made to glow. This work was sold. |
medium: acrylic paint on fabric |
26 May 2023A mushroom pouch I painted with paint I made to glow. This work was sold. |
medium: acrylic paint on fabric |
30 May 2023An octopus canvas bag I painted to sell with paint I mixed to glow in the dark. This work was sold. medium: acrylic paint on canvas |
2 June May 2023A pouch I painted to sell. |

5 June 2023 |
A tiger I painted on a bag to sell. I mixed this paint with glowing pigments as well. |
medium: acrylic paint on canvas |
10 June 2023 |
A crocodile bag I painted to sell. Some aspects of it glow in the dark. |
medium: acrylic paint on canvas |
11 June 2023 |
A spider bag I painted to sell. I was suffering from art block so this bag was improvizational and unplanned just to force myself to work. Came out pretty well, I think. |
medium: acrylic paint on canvas |
12 June 2023 |
A bag I painted to sell. Parts of this glow in the dark (the diver's green attributes). This work was sold. |
medium: acrylic paint on canvas |
January and 19 June 2023 |
Two more little things I made while waiting around. These are made to be brush or pen holders: you would rest the brush on the cat's stomach or the dog's fore-paws. |
medium: clay and glaze |
20 June 2023 |
I made a knife with an incredible amount of help from the blacksmith's apprentice Jesse. |
medium: steel |
22 June 2023 |
An octopus mug I made! This was a rush job, as I only had about three hours to work with and I'd never hand-built a mug before. With more time obviously more care would've been taken in making him. Hopefully I get to glaze him sometime soon. |

30 June 2023 |
A sticker I was commissioned to design and produce. |
medium: digital and holographic vinyl |
8 July 2023 |
I hadn't been back to the Nelson-Atkins museum since COVID, so I decided to go back to my old skill check sculpture and re-draw it again. |
medium: charcoal, graphite and white pastel on paper |
15 July 2023 |
This bronze has a lot of emotional impact on me, so I decided to sketch it again. The last attempt to draw this particular work was made in 2016. |
medium: charcoal, graphite and white pastel on paper |
24 July 2023 |
Another attempt at Saint Barbara (last attempted in 2018). I always try to retain the same drawing position so the shapes are all the same between attempts. That makes it easier to compare the differences. In this case, my drawing position is low and to the right. |
